When it comes to maintaining your BMW, using genuine OEM parts is always the best choice. The BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set is no exception. Designed specifically for the F32/F33/F36 4 Series and F82/F83 M4 models, this wiper blade set promises optimal visibility, durability, and a perfect fit. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the details based on real customer experiences.
Pros and Cons of the BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set
Quality and Performance
One of the standout features of this wiper blade set is its genuine OEM quality. Customers consistently praise its performance, especially in harsh weather conditions. One reviewer noted that after trying multiple aftermarket brands like Rain-X and TRICO, which lasted only 2-3 months and often left streaks or made noise, the BMW OEM blades were a game-changer. They reported 6-9 months of flawless performance, even during heavy Florida storms.
Another customer highlighted that these wipers are quiet and streak-free, providing a smooth and clear windshield experience. The all-season performance ensures reliability year-round, making them a worthwhile investment for BMW owners.
Ease of Installation
Installation is a breeze with the pinch tab mounting system. Many users mentioned that the process took less than 5 minutes, even for those who had never replaced wiper blades before. One reviewer shared a helpful tip: putting the wipers into service mode before installation eliminates the risk of scratching the hood. This feature makes the BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set not only high-performing but also user-friendly.
Durability and Longevity
Durability is where these wiper blades truly shine. Customers reported that the blades lasted significantly longer than aftermarket alternatives. One user mentioned that after 6 months of use, the blades were still performing well, with only minor streaking starting to appear. This longevity makes the higher price point more justifiable, especially when compared to cheaper options that require frequent replacements.
Price and Value
While the BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set is more expensive than aftermarket options, customers agree that the value is worth it. One reviewer pointed out that they initially hesitated due to the price but ultimately found the OEM blades to be a better investment. After trying multiple cheaper brands that failed within months, they concluded that the BMW blades were "SO WORTH IT" at $50.
However, some customers noted that the price has increased over time. One user mentioned that the cost was 40% higher in late 2021 compared to previous years. At full list price ($61+), some buyers suggested exploring Bosch or Valeo options, which are believed to be the actual manufacturers of these BMW blades.
Fit and Compatibility
The vehicle-specific fit is another major advantage. Customers confirmed that the blades fit perfectly on their BMW models, ensuring seamless compatibility. One reviewer with a 2016 428i xDrive Coupe praised the exact fit and easy installation, while another with a 2018 440 Gran Coupe appreciated the hassle-free replacement process.
Conclusion: Is the BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set Worth It?
The BMW 61612349870 Wiper Blade Set is a premium product that delivers on its promises. Its genuine OEM quality, easy installation, and long-lasting performance make it a standout choice for BMW owners. While the price may be higher than aftermarket alternatives, the durability and reliability justify the investment for many users.

Comments from Amazon:
Fits perfect and works good
These were $80 at the stealership and originally only had a $10 discount here on Amazon so I’d been avoiding getting them.. I went through 3 different brands of wiper blades that ranged from $17 to $40 and all of them lasted no more than 2, maybe barely 3 months. Rain-X was the worst, and then TRICO was decent. Not only did those brands not last very long, but most of them were very noisy and left streaking regardless. These OEM bmw wipers are SO WORTH IT when you’re paying $50!! I bought these in September and now it’s March and they’re only just starting to do a little bit of streaking on the driver side wiper when the windshield is dirty, indicating they’re maybe 3/4 of their life done.. but I could probably pull another solid few months.. I grabbed another pair but waiting until I see these really become an issue. 6-9 solid months of no streaks, no noise, and beautiful performance especially during heavy Florida storms is already by far worth the $50 price tag. If they go up again I’ll try shopping around more brands but for now I’ll stock up on a few sets of these bad boys. 10/10
I don’t usually feel strongly about buying OE parts, especially for something like wiper blades. However, from day one I thought the blades on my F36 were the best I’d ever experienced on a car and decided to not experiment with other brands. As long as you’re buying them from a seller that’s a BMW dealer (you sometimes have to go in and read about the seller, as they may not use their BMW dealership name on Amzn), these are the real deal BMW beam blades. Now the thing is this — the first time I changed these in late 2018, the price through a seller here on Amazon was substantially less, to the extent the two blade BMW pack was about the same as buying Bosch blades. Unfortunately, it looks like some of the dealers who were selling on Amzn aren’t any longer, and/or are not discounting like they were. So the price I got this time (late 2021) was 40% higher than what I previously paid. At that price I was still ok, but to be clear, at or near full list price ($61.xx), I would look into some Bosch or Valeo options (I believe the latter is the actual manufacturer of these BMW blades).
Ordered these as they are OEM and saw a video on YouTube on how to do it yourself. Had no idea how to bring the wipers up to an accessible position to simply remove. Easy 2 minute install on my 2016 428i xDrive Coupe. Can’t comment on longevity as I just installed them a few minutes ago but very satisfied with the OEM product in original packaging, and matching as an exact fit for my vehicle.
OEM part! Thank you!
My wife started complaining that the wipers in her 2018 440 Gran Coupe weren't working very well, so I did some homework and ordered up this set. They showed up several days ahead of schedule and were packaged well. Overall installation took about 5 minutes. As others have said, make it easier on yourself and put the blades into service mode prior to install to eliminate the risk of scratching the paint on the hood. My local BMW dealership wanted almost $40 plus tax for this exact set, so this was a great deal. Would certainly order again. Total no-brainer.
Great OEM replacement for the ones that don’t have a lot of time to go to the dealer and get parts. I order it and it was delivered on time. I installed them which was super simple and they are working perfect
