EMITHSUN® Windshield Wiper Blades Review: A Budget-Friendly Upgrade for Your Car

When it comes to maintaining your car, windshield wipers are one of those unsung heroes that often get overlooked—until they start streaking or squeaking. Recently, I decided to replace the wipers on my 2005 Ford Explorer and stumbled upon the EMITHSUN® Windshield Wiper Blades. At first glance, they seemed like a budget-friendly option, but I was skeptical about their quality. After testing them out, I’m here to share my experience and whether they’re worth your money.

Product Overview

The EMITHSUN® Windshield Wiper Blades are designed as a direct replacement for the 2005 Ford Explorer, as well as other models like the Ford Excursion (2000-2005) and Ford Expedition (1999-2007). The set includes three wipers: two 20-inch front wipers and one 16-inch rear wiper. Key features include:

  • Aerodynamic design to reduce drag, noise, and wind lift.
  • Dual high-tenacity memory spring steel sheet for uniform pressure distribution.
  • Natural rubber material for durability and performance.
  • Easy installation with no adapters required.

Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Quality and Performance

One of the standout features of these wiper blades is their quality and performance. Many customers, including myself, were pleasantly surprised by how well they performed. One reviewer noted, “Quality blade. Excellent performance. Great upgrade.” Another mentioned, “They work very-very well, and I’m quite pleased with them.” The aerodynamic design and natural rubber material ensure a streak-free wipe, even in heavy rain.

However, some users pointed out that the rubber tends to deteriorate after about a year, especially in harsh climates like Florida. One customer shared, “In Florida, wiper blades generally last around 6 months. These lasted a year before needing replacement.” While this isn’t ideal, it’s still a decent lifespan for the price.

Ease of Installation

The installation process is another area where these wipers shine. Most customers found them easy to install, with one reviewer stating, “Fit mine and my wife’s cars perfectly, pretty straightforward with simple installation.” The no-adapter design makes it a hassle-free experience for most users.

That said, a few customers found the instructions lacking. One user mentioned, “There are minimal instructions, and it wasn’t clear how to install them.” While this wasn’t a dealbreaker, it did add some frustration for those unfamiliar with wiper blade installation.

Durability and Longevity

When it comes to durability, opinions are mixed. Some customers praised the wipers for lasting longer than expected, while others noted that the rubber tends to wear out faster in extreme weather conditions. One reviewer shared a tip: “Clean your windshield regularly and your windshield wiper blades shouldn’t chatter.” This suggests that proper maintenance can extend the life of these wipers.

On the flip side, a few users expressed disappointment that they couldn’t find replacement rubber inserts separately. One customer lamented, “I like when I could purchase only the rubber part of the wiper blade. The frame lasts at least 5 years, but now I have to replace the entire blade.” This is a valid concern for those looking to reduce waste and save money.

Value for Money

The affordability of these wiper blades is a major selling point. Many customers appreciated the balance between price and performance. One reviewer said, “These were more reasonable in price but not a brand that I recognized. Turns out these were great!” Another added, “Good value for the money.”

However, a few users felt that the quality could be improved to match higher-end brands. One customer noted, “Decent quality wiper at a good price,” implying that while they’re not premium, they’re a solid choice for budget-conscious buyers.

Final Verdict

After testing the EMITHSUN® Windshield Wiper Blades and reading through numerous customer reviews, I can confidently say that they’re a solid choice for anyone looking for an affordable, reliable wiper blade set. While they may not last as long as premium brands, their performance and ease of installation make them a great value for the price.

Strengths:

  • Excellent performance with a streak-free wipe.
  • Easy to install with no adapters required.
  • Affordable price point.

Weaknesses:

  • Rubber may deteriorate faster in extreme weather.
  • Minimal installation instructions.
  • No option to purchase replacement rubber inserts separately.

If you’re on a budget and need a reliable set of wiper blades, the EMITHSUN® Windshield Wiper Blades are definitely worth considering. Just be sure to clean your windshield regularly to maximize their lifespan.

Comments from Amazon:

These were more reasonable in price but not a brand that I recognized so I was naturally skeptical

So many things have become over priced "due to covid shortages and inflation", wiper blades not excepted. These were more reasonable in price but not a brand that I recognized so I was naturally skeptical. Turns out these were great! Fit mine and my wife's cars perfectly, pretty straightforward with simple installation. I will buy again, and suggest you give them a try!

There was some sort of SNAFU where we got sent something for an iPhone instead (didn't open the package), and we were forced to wait until we returned the item we never ordered before we could get the wipers out of Amazon jail and sent to us

The windshield wipers on my 2011 Subaru Outback were starting to streak, so I ordered these. There was some sort of SNAFU where we got sent something for an iPhone instead (didn't open the package), and we were forced to wait until we returned the item we never ordered before we could get the wipers out of Amazon jail and sent to us. However, they finally arrived. There are minimal instructions and it wasn't clear how to install them (and I'm well familiar with installing wipers). I finally figured out how to rotate the U-shaped protector (not sure what it's actually called, but it hides the actual connector from view when it's in place). Once I figured that out, the installation was very quick, and I was able to get the 2nd one on in 1/5 the time of the first one. The rear is a completely different connection type, and went on very easily. If you're still with me, the good news is, they work very-very well, and I'm quite pleased with them. I took a star off because of the PITA initially getting them installed. I doubt that the shipping SNAFU was their fault so I didn't take anything off for that.

 Good value for the money

These wipers fit perfect and do a good job wiping the windshields. Good value for the money.

People complaining and showing on their video

I’ve watched some videos on windshield and rear window wiper blades. People complaining and showing on their video. That the windshield wiper blades are chattering when in use. A windshield wiper blade isn’t a windshield cleaner. Something most people don’t do. Clean their new wiper blades with rubbing alcohol and a cotton cloth, before installing. Wiper blade sets used to come with an alcohol wipe. I don’t remember whether or not these wiper blades came with an alcohol wipe. Clean your windshield regularly and your windshield wiper blades shouldn’t chatter. A 10% solution of white vinegar and 90% warm water. A clean cotton cloth and a microfiber cloth. The clean cotton and microfiber cloth shouldn’t ever have had fabric softener added to them when washing or a Fabric Softener Sheet added to the clothes dryer. I wash my cotton cloths and microfiber cloths by hand using Blue Dawn Dish Detergent. Rinse well with clean water and hang on clothesline to dry. As I’ve previously written A 10% solution of White Vinegar and 90% clean warm water and a clean cotton cloth Is an excellent windshield and window cleaner. Drying the windshield and windows with a microfiber cloth will give you streak free windshield and windows. . Anyway I’m 100% satisfied with these wiper blades. They lasted 1 year before needing replaced. In Florida wiper blades generally last around 6 months. Before the rubber that actually makes contact with the windshield or rear window. Deteriorates and becomes disconnected from the rest of the wiper blades. Before you check if your vehicle’s wiper blades need replaced. Have a new set of wiper blades on hand. A easy way to check if your vehicle’s wiper blades need replaced. Gently pull on the rubber part on the wiper blade that touches the windshield or rear window. If it separates from the rest of the wiper blade. It’s time to replace all the vehicle’s wiper blades. Many times if the wiper blades have been on the vehicle for over a year. The rubber part of the wiper blade that touches the windshield or rear window. Will already have fallen off or it is falling off. I like when I could purchase only the rubber part of the wiper blade. The frame of a wiper blade will generally last at least 5 years or more. There was a time that I could purchase a replacement rubber insert or only the rubber wiper. The rubber wiper came in 3 different widths, in 50 foot rolls and were very inexpensive. All I had to do was remove the old rubber wiper. Remove the 2 stainless steel strips. Cut the roll of rubber wiper to the correct size. Insert the stainless steel strips and install the old wiper body with new rubber strips. This would save me a lot of money. I can’t find where to purchase the inserts or a 50 foot roll of just the rubber part of a wiper blade anymore. If you do find and purchase the 50 foot roll of wiper rubber. Be sure to not discard the stainless steel strips that are on the old wiper rubber blades. The wiper inserts came with the stainless steel strips. After 22 years I finally ran out of the roll of wiper rubber. So I had to purchase new wiper blades including the wiper blade frame. So much for creating less trash for my local landfill. I was still using the original OEM wiper frame that came on my Ford F-350. They are stainless steel and nothing was wrong with them.
