Michelin 19-2617SUBA Stealth Ultra Twin Pack Wiper Blade Review: A Reliable Choice for All Seasons

When it comes to windshield wipers, the Michelin 19-2617SUBA Stealth Ultra Twin Pack is a standout option for drivers seeking durability, ease of installation, and superior performance. Designed to fit a wide range of vehicles, including popular models from Nissan, Honda, Subaru, and more, these wiper blades promise a streak-free, clear windshield in all weather conditions. With features like a memory curved steel beam design and an aerodynamic build, they aim to deliver optimal visibility and longevity. But do they live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the details based on real customer experiences.

Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

Quality and Durability

One of the most praised aspects of the Michelin Stealth Ultra wiper blades is their durability. Many customers have reported using these blades for over a year, even in harsh winter conditions. One reviewer from New York shared that their previous pair lasted through two brutal winters, including multiple encounters with ice, and were still functional when replaced. Another customer highlighted their performance during freezing temperatures, stating that the blades worked flawlessly even at zero degrees Fahrenheit.

However, not all experiences were positive. Some users noted a decline in quality with the newer design, claiming that the blades no longer lay flat on the windshield and felt cheaper compared to older versions. This inconsistency in quality control has left a few customers disappointed.

Ease of Installation

The Michelin Stealth Ultra wiper blades are marketed as easy to install, and most customers agree. Many found the installation process straightforward, with clear instructions provided. One reviewer mentioned that following the printed directions or a quick YouTube tutorial made the process hassle-free.

That said, a few users faced challenges, particularly with specific wiper arm types. One customer with a 2013 Ford Explorer mentioned that the instructions weren’t entirely clear, leading to a 10-minute struggle to figure out the correct setup. While this wasn’t a dealbreaker, it’s worth noting for those who prefer a completely seamless installation experience.

Performance and Visibility

When it comes to performance, these wiper blades shine. Customers consistently praised their ability to provide a streak-free, clear windshield, even in heavy rain or snow. The memory curved steel beam design ensures close contact with the windshield, effectively removing water, mud, and even bugs. One driver recounted a situation where the blades effortlessly cleared a swarm of bugs during a drive, proving their reliability in less-than-ideal conditions.

A few users did mention minor streaking during the initial use, but this issue typically resolved after a few wipes. Some recommended cleaning the blades before installation to minimize this effect. Overall, the performance of the Michelin Stealth Ultra wiper blades has earned high marks from the majority of users.

Noise and Comfort

No one wants noisy wipers, and thankfully, the Michelin Stealth Ultra blades deliver a quiet experience. Customers reported minimal to no squeaking or chattering, even during prolonged use. This makes them a comfortable choice for daily driving, especially in areas with frequent rain or snow.

Value for Money

At their price point, the Michelin Stealth Ultra wiper blades offer excellent value for money. Many customers expressed satisfaction with their purchase, citing the blades’ durability and performance as key reasons to stick with the brand. However, those who encountered issues with the newer design felt that the product no longer justified its cost, leading them to consider alternative brands.

Final Verdict: Are They Worth It?

The Michelin 19-2617SUBA Stealth Ultra Twin Pack wiper blades are a solid choice for drivers seeking reliable, all-season performance. Their durability, ease of installation, and ability to provide a clear, streak-free windshield make them a favorite among many. However, the occasional quality inconsistency and minor installation challenges for certain vehicle types are worth considering.

If you’re looking for wiper blades that can withstand harsh weather conditions and deliver consistent performance, the Michelin Stealth Ultra is a great option. Just be sure to double-check compatibility with your vehicle and follow installation instructions carefully. For most drivers, these wiper blades are a worthwhile investment that lives up to the Michelin name.

Until something else can prove better I am going to stick with these because they hug the whole windshield to make it nice and clear

I have been going back to these wipers for all of our vehicles the last few times that I have had to purchase wipers. Until something else can prove better I am going to stick with these because they hug the whole windshield to make it nice and clear. I have had my previous pair on for over a year in two pretty harsh New York Winters. I just took them off today and put a new pair on just because and the old ones were not even damaged. Even after running them over ice several times the last couple seasons. I actually threw the ones I removed in my storage bin with my spare tire just in case one of these broke and I needed it in an emergency. It's still totally usable. Thanks Michelin, these are great wipers.

Excellent all season wipers !!
Worked flawlessly w recent ice/snow storms in the northeast - even w/ temps at zero Fahrenheit, no issues to report

2/20/25. Excellent all season wipers !! Worked flawlessly w recent ice/snow storms in the northeast - even w/ temps at zero Fahrenheit, no issues to report. These replaced Michelin stealth all season blades that have been discontinued.

I just got a new set for my truck and the design has changed

I have been buying the Michelin Stealth Ultra wiper blades for years until now. I just got a new set for my truck and the design has changed. The new design is junk. The blades don't want to lay flat on the glass and are definitely a cheaper design than before. Definitely not worth the money. Will probably return and search other brands.

They are very easy to install and they do not really make any noise

I have never thought that a big brand company would make windshield wipers but like there experience tires I’m very impressed with the quality of this. They are very easy to install and they do not really make any noise. Clears the windshield great with very minimal streaks but it’s because it’s new so be expecting that when you first use them. It DOES NOT make your windshield hard to see with those minor streaks it will clear up on the other pass it will be much better the more you use them. Would really recommend to wipe the wipers first once you install them on your vehicle to prevent those streaks as I was talking about. Over all very great quality windshield wipers for a major brand and they will be very easy to take off with just one push of a button. Would definitely buy again in the future. Worth the money 100%.

Easy to install, work great, no streaking and no chatter on the glass.

That is why we wait until they are falling apart and we truly need to replace them

Let's be honest, no one wants to buy windshield wipers. That is why we wait until they are falling apart and we truly need to replace them. I have had these Michelin Stealth Ultra Twin Pack for over 6 months now. They have done a great job at well, wiping. They have held up through some heavy rains and bugs. Yes bugs. Recently we while driving for about 2 miles hit a patch of bugs, that came in like it was a light rain. I had to use a little washer fluid along the way, but these wipes removed the bugs out of the way. Installing them, well that is why they only get 4 and not 5 stars. I have a 2013 Ford Explorer. The length is fine, however, the instructions were not completely clear on which pieces I needed. Took a few minutes, on maybe 10, to figure it out. I did get them on, and they have yet to fly off. Pros: Great for wiping your windshield of both water and bugs Quiet, no squeaking or skipping. Cons: Depending on your wiper arm type, you might need to do a little figuring out, but should still fit.

I wiped the blades either a wet paper towel and was appalled to see the black residue that came off onto the paper towels and my hands which required scrubbing with soap to get off my hands

I initially bought the RainX latitude blades and they left residue streaks on my windscreen. I wiped the blades either a wet paper towel and was appalled to see the black residue that came off onto the paper towels and my hands which required scrubbing with soap to get off my hands. I quickly got rid of them and bought Michelin. Despite some reviews claiming it was difficult to install I found it completely easy if one followed printed directions or YouTube directions. Works like a charm and no streaks. I recommend the Michelin wiper blades.
